Summary
British Pathe synopsis: "The modern counterpart of the old Voyageurs who, in their canoes, kept up communication between the stations in the great North-West." M/S of man walking towards the camera with a canoe balanced on his head. Another man follows him with bags over his shoulders. M/S of them loading up the canoe with their bags and boxes. L/S of them canoeing across a river - they are silhouetted in black against the light river. "Came the dawn, and the mists of morning." L/S of mists moving across the lake, canoeists in the distance. L/S of river landscape - trees bordering the river. "The primeval forest of deepest Ontario." High angle shot of the river. High angle shot from mountainside of canoeists on the river. "White water ahead." Low angle shot of canoeists approaching the camera over choppy waters. Canoe passes the camera. "Only the highest skill can take you safely through the rushing torrent."
