Summary
British Pathe synopsis: "The same machines used by Adam are now adopted by up-to-date Eves in training for rowing." M/S of a group of women training on stationary rowing machines. M/S of woman practising her rowing technique. Good shot of the girls rowing from the front of the machines. "In other places they prefer to paddle their own canoes. (and try the idea on land first.)" High angle shot of group of women sitting on the edge of a wooden boardwalk next to a river. They practice their rowing strokes. M/S of the girls from the water - they all wear day clothes - not sportswear - so it looks a little strange. High angle shot of large number of girls in two-man canoes. "Meanwhile, a growing army of young women is invading Old Father Thames." Low angle of group of girls in sportswear walking towards the camera arm in arm. They wear black shorts, white long sleeved sweaters, berets and striped scarves. Their sweaters have a badge in the centre - perhaps a school uniform sports kit. "Day in and day out Eve is training and straining for supremacy in rowing. (eights seem more popular than singles here.)" High angle shot of women’s rowing teams in action from a riverbank. C/U of a woman shouting through a megaphone. More shots of the rowers. A group of girls watch from the riverbank. Girls almost silhouettes as they stand with their blades on the riverbank. L/S of a group of girl rowers carrying their boat out of the river. L/S of the girls standing on the riverbank with their blades. M/S of the girls - they smile. Their badges have a large capital letter "A" on them.
