Summary
NoS Summary - Growth of some Peregrine Falcon chicks is observed
British Pathe synopsis: "On the rocky coast of Western Britain, there still remain a few Peregrine Falcons for the Naturalist to observe." L/S of waves crashing against rocks. High angle shot of a man (Charles D. Head?) making his way down a cliff into a hide. "When the position of a nest is fixed, the observer and camera outfit are carefully lowered over the cliff edge - " High angle shot of man walking backwards over the cliff holding on to ropes. "After the youngsters are hatched the mother never leaves them, except to take food from the male." C/U of mother feeding chicks. "At eight days four hungry mouths look like the ever open door - " C/U of four chicks with open mouths. "At two weeks they are a team of comedians in their funny little ways " C/U of three of the birds. C/U of one of the chicks being fed by hand - possibly Charles D. Head feeding it. C/U of the chick. "Two weeks later their fierce appetite is a whole time job for the parents to appease - (Young mice for choice)" C/Us of the mother feeding the chicks. "Most of the mice-collecting is left to Father Falcon - (A good appetite will dispose of 15 mice a day each!)" High angle shot of the birds on the nest. C/U of larger chick gulping down its food. "A few weeks later we find one of the grown youngsters trying his wings - " "and it’s time to return our equipment to the top." "A Peregrine Falcon, fierce but tameable by kindness."
