NoS Summary - how to make stencil pictures with black paper & coloured tinfoil.
British Pathe synopsis: "Just black paper" M/S of a woman unrolling a sheet of black paper. "A stencil" M/S of woman holding up a stencil. "A few sheets of old coloured tinfoil off your cigarettes or chocolates" Woman holds up a few sheets of foil. "...and the pastime begins." C/U of woman reflected in a mirror which is lying on a table - her image is upside down on the screen. She places the black paper over the mirror. "Paper on the table" The stencil is then placed on top of the black paper. "Stencil cut - with the aid of a sharp knife - (or an old safety razor)" C/U of the paper being cut through the stencil. The stencil is removed to leave the black outline with mirror showing through. "Finally, paste the coloured tinfoil on the back" C/U of glue being applied to the tinfoil then the foil being stuck to the back of the stencil. Dissolve into shot of the back of the stencil with lots of pieces of foil stuck on the back. Short shot of the woman holding up the finished picture. ""In passe-partout, they look charming - and so easily made, too." C/U of woman holding her picture. C/U of the finished picture. C/U of two other foil pictures - two women, one wearing an old fashioned dress, the other in flapper style outfit.
