British Pathe synopsis: Lincolnshire. "Keadby Lift Bridge they call this 3,500 ton structure which can be raised in 40 seconds..." L/S of the bridge as it is being raised. "Only one man is required to control this great span, which supports both road and railway... (The compensating ballast tanks alone weigh 2,000 tons!)" M/S of a man in the control tower. Another view of the bridge as it is lowered. M/S of the structure moving. C/U of the cogs as they turn. Various shots of the bridge including a shot of a steam train crossing it.
