Summary
NoS Summary - women dive from the top of Saddle Rock, near Torquay, into the sea below.
British Pathe synopsis: L/S of three girls in bathing suits climbing a rock face. Man sits in a rowing boat at the bottom of the cliff. The man rows out to sea. C/U of the girls climbing the rock. Low angle of the girls at the top of the rock. They wave to the camera. "Saddle Rock rears its head 52 feet above high water and would make even Adam think twice before taking the plunge." A largish woman stands on the top of the rock with her arms stretched out ready to dive. She throws herself off. L/S of her dive. She hits the water. "A sea silhouette." The rock is silhouetted against the sea with one of the girls standing on the very highest point. The woman dives off in slow motion. "No wonder they call it the graceful art." L/S from a different angle of the woman diving off. High angle shot of the woman diving into the sea. "The higher (the dive)" M/S of woman standing on the tip of the rock. She stretches out her arms. L/S of her dive in slow motion. "And, what’s this?" Through a camera reversal, we see a high angle shot of the dive in reverse - the splash is reversed and the woman appears out of the water. M/S of the girls sitting on top of the rock - there are five of them and they all smile broadly at the camera.
