Summary
NoS Summary - how to make moulded biscuits filled with jam and chocolate.
British Pathe synopsis: "In other words - fancy biscuits - and they’re so simple to make. Now watch closely!" C/U of a table upon which are ingredients and utensils necessary for making biscuits including eggs, sugar, salt, mixing bowl, whisk etc. Woman in a white coat cracks eggs into the mixing bowl. "...a little flour..." She adds flour from a mug then whisks the mixture together. She adds some sugar and salt then whisks those in. She dribbles in some milk from a large bottle. "Quite stirring, isn’t it?" High angle shot of the bowl. L/S of the chef as she stands at the table whisking the mixture. She places a saucepan on a little portable stove. "In the pot is "cooking" oil, which must be heated - not boiled, before the biscuit mould can do its work. (It is essential to dip the mould in the oil before the paste.)" High angle C/U of the mould being dipped into the oil. It is then dipped into the mixture and back into the oil. The mould is then taken out of the oil and the moulded biscuit is knocked out onto a baking tray. "The biscuits can be eaten as they are, or any filling can be used." C/U of a chocolate mixture being poured into the moulded biscuits, then strawberry jam being spooned in. Some other biscuits are shaped like butterflies.
