Summary
NoS Summary - Acrobatic dancer does gravity defying stunts with six glamour girls.
British Pathe synopsis: Full title of the item is "Laughing at the law of gravity. How a Daring Dancer defies it." Introductory intertitle reads: "When this dancer went to school, he never wished to be an engine driver. He wanted to break the law of gravity and be the only human "Lighter-than-air" machine..." M/S of six chorus girls with their arms around each other doing a kick routine. A man does a tap routine in front of them jumping high into the air and clicking his heels together. This is all seen in slow motion. The man jumps in the air and spins around. "To learn this little trick all you need is a lot of determination and half a dozen girl friends..." The six girls bend down and hold onto their toes. The male dancer jumps into the air and jumps over each girl in turn. We see this again in slow motion. "The jump-up is not easy..." The man lies on a mattress and attempts to flip himself up to standing position. "...unless you learn to do it in slow-motion..." We see him roll his body backwards then jump up in slow motion. "Laughing at the law of gravity...!" The girls stand together touching their toes and the man dives over them - seen in slow motion. We see this from another angle, as the man dives towards the camera.
