Summary
NoS Summary - fox cubs playing and nightingales feeding their offspring.
British Pathe synopsis: "Fox cubs, pretty as a picture - but the farmers don’t like them near their poultry runs - (This picture took patient days to obtain.)" L/S of fox cub walking along in a wooded area. Closer shot of a cub prowling around. "Wild, wild nature, but so pretty to watch. (Especially when they think they are unobserved.)" Three cubs sit together. L/S of one of the cubs sniffing the ground. "During a long drought the birds of the woodlands often have difficulty in obtaining water. This small pool of spring water was frequented by all sorts of birds, and Ring Doves, Chaffinches, Robins, Blackbirds, etc., enjoyed its coolness." Various shots of birds having a bath in the little puddle and drinking from it. "Another patient picture - the glorious nightingale - more often heard than seen." Shot of the Nightingale on its nest. "It builds its nest on the ground, among low bushes, and lays four or five olive brown eggs." High angle shot of eggs in the nest. "Mother and father have a whole-time job - finding the "eats" for hungry mouths - a non-stop performance." L/S of a nest - baby birds with mouths open just visible. Mother bird arrives with food and feeds her offspring.
