Summary
NoS synopsis: "Out of the mists a blurred old picture comes clearly to memory." A photograph is rolled out down over a black screen to reveal a woodland scene. A woman does one handed cartwheels in slow motion across the screen. "Bit by bit, a well-remembered scene takes form..." A section of the "photograph" is torn off. Strips are torn off one by one until there is just a black screen. "A flash of life, rising in reminiscence, takes vivid form." A melted image reforms itself to become a shot of a piece of film reversal - a diver returns to the board. A dive is seen in slow motion, the film is reversed and the diver again returns to the board. The dive is frozen in mid air then allowed to continue. "The old companion, gone but not forgotten." Through stop frame animation a torn up photograph reforms itself. Once the photograph is complete it starts to move - a dog walking on its hind legs and doing twirls. The film is frozen then reversed. The dog is very cute.
