British Pathe synopsis: "Ever since the Cave man used Eve’s hair as a tow rope, hair has been woman’s crowning glory - " M/S of group of a dozen women in theatrical costume with various elaborate hairstyles. Woman sits at a mirror having her incredibly long hair combed by another woman. "The Egyptian style that probably started Cleo’s troubles - " C/U of woman in an ornate Egyptian style costume with long black hair. She turns to show her hair and smiles. "Helen of Troy had other ideas." C/U of a woman dressed as Helen of Troy. She turns to model her hairdo. "So had Matilda, Queen of France, when she started the braid still beloved of little girls." M/S of beautiful but stern looking woman with long plaited hair and a beaded head dress. "The Elizabethan - no wonder we licked the Armada - " Woman poses in Elizabethan outfit turning and smiling. "France 1777" - powder wig type has a ridiculous ship on her head! She turns trying not to laugh. "And Marie Antoinette was a top-notcher in her days - !" Woman poses as Marie Antoinette with large powdered wig. "The Gibson Girl of the naughty nineties." Smiling woman poses, turning her head from side to side and wrinkling her nose. "And Miss 1932 - long may her "permanent" wave - " Modern girl shows her permed hairstyle.
