Summary
NoS Summary - Views from a hot air balloon over rivers, forests and towns.
British Pathe synopsis: "There’s no place like home and no wider open space than the air - And the way to envy one and enjoy the other is by balloon - " M/S of people crowded around the basket of a hot air balloon. Four men stand in the basket, one of whom holds a movie camera. High angle M/S of the balloon lifting off the ground. The men wave at the camera. Point of view shot showing what the cameraman in the balloon can see - people running underneath them. One of the men running along holds what looks like a large megaphone. Low angle shot of the balloon as it rises up. Aerial point of view shot of the houses and river below. "Far below lies Mother Earth, and her towns and rivers." Moving aerial shot of the river below. Aerial shot of a steam train moving through the landscape. High view of a large town. Balloon passes over a forest. "Chasing our shadow over the forest, with the safety rope dangling..." Shadow of the balloon is seen on the tree tops. Sand is thrown over the side of the basket. "Into the wide open spaces." Low angle shot of balloon.
