British Pathe synopsis: "They’ve coined a new phrase at Margate (Clifton) - Physical Excellence, for Eve." L/S of a large water slide at an open air swimming pool. Woman stands on the high board limbering up. M/S of group of girls sitting at the side of the pool in swimsuits. Woman continues her knee bends. M/S of group of bathing belles. Girl on the high board strikes an elegant pose. M/S of some spectators. There’s more good form shown here than on any racecourse we know of..." Panning shot of large group of girls in swimsuits waving at the camera. Various shots of swimmers and spectators. "Our Cameraman considered it was all excellent - brilliant sun, warm breeze, pretty girls - what could you?" Girls in swimsuits pose by the side of the pool - this is possibly a beauty contest. M/S of group of girls in swimsuits. They wear numbers on their chests. The girls parade past the camera. M/S of the winner being awarded a gramophone. M/S of runner up receiving a prize. "And, after all, mermaids don’t need to go in the water these days." The girls parade on the side of the pool. C/Us of some of the contestants - smiling at the camera.
