Summary
NoS Summary - Parade of women and children in traditional dress - Brandenburg.
British Pathe synopsis: Germany. "The brightest items our Cameraman came across were these lassies." C/U of an embroidered piece of fabric, revealed to be part of an elaborate hat as a woman turns her head to face the camera. M/S of group of women wearing lace outfits - the women are quite elderly and the dresses very young in style. "Custom lingers here more than anywhere - Paris may change its spots every month, but not Brandenburg." Panning shots of women in traditional costume. Various shots of their outfits. "All this "to do", we discovered, was in celebration of a good harvest." High angle shots of parade through the streets. "Eve, Adam, and the little Eves "'Ad’em" M/S of group of women wearing another style of traditional dress. C/U of some of the girls laughing. "It takes a top hat to make the men more sedate." M/S of a parade, men wear top hats and tail coats, the women wear ornate traditional dress of some kind. Another shot of the parade. "But, the proudest were the bairns - " Two shots of children in traditional dress.
