Summary
NoS Summary - Women do keep fit exercises on a rooftop in London.
British Pathe synopsis: "Hiking is a strenuous business and requires preparation. Increasing opportunities for exercising is afforded on some of London’s office buildings." L/S of a group of women skipping towards the camera on a rooftop L/S view of the Thames, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament visible. High angle shots of views of streets below. M/S of woman standing on a table and skipping with a rope. Other girls stand and watch. "Some of these are special hiking exercises", said Anconeus Dell, the P.T. Expert." Low angle shot of the girls skipping with ropes, Anconeus is seen in the background. C/U of woman’s feet as she skips. M/S of the girls skipping. "To hike happily needs physical fitness, if only to withstand our weekend weather." L/S of the girls exercising - doing bending and stretching routine. The girls then do some "jacks". They don’t look like chorus girls or actresses, just normal working women probably.
