NoS Summary - routines from the show "Stand Up and Sing" at the London Hippodrome, starring Elsie Randolph.
NoS synopsis: "One of these days some expert like Einstein will calculate how much energy per minute is expended by a trained troupe of acrobats like these Seven Hindustans." Stage set with troupe of acrobats performing gymnastic feats. The chorus stand behind and politely applaud. The troupe do balancing acts, tumbling, hand springs and general throwing themselves around the stage. "Lots of us would join the Mercantile Marine if we had ladies like these in it - not to mention dainty Elsie Randolph as well - !" Low angle shot on stage of chorus girls dressed in sailor suits with incredible fringed trousers! They dance a hornpipe - of sorts. Boys in naval uniform come onto the stage and the troupe dance together. Various shots of the routines. Elsie performs a song and dance routine in front of the chorus - she wears a man’s naval uniform.
