Summary
NoS Summary - Near Shiraz in Persia - life of the nomad tribes of this region.
NoS synopsis: "About 100 miles east of Shiraz, where the great goat-hair tents of the great nomad tribes are standing." Panning shot of primitive tents with tribes people and animals standing around them. "A kind of bread all their own." M/S of two men making bread on hot stones. "As a special favour they granted us permission to film two of the Chief’s wives - and the son and heir - " C/U of two women, one holds a toddler in her arms. The boy is given a piece of paper to play with. M/S of the women surrounded by children. The women go inside a tent. "The men are rather striking." reads an intertitle, followed by a shot of group of tribesmen in traditional dress. "Eve makes the goat-hair fabric for the tents." M/S of women working outside at a loom. The chief woman sings a song which tells workers the pattern to place on the famous Persian carpets. "-and the famous Persian carpets. (The Chief woman sings out a song which tells the workers the patter!)" M/S of carpets being woven. Closer shot showing pattern of carpet. C/U of hands at work weaving. "Whilst the men roam the valleys to protect the camp - armed for any trouble they may encounter." Panning shot of tribesmen on horseback. Side view of men riding at speed past the camera.
