Summary
NoS synopsis: The Song of the Drum was the "new Drury Lane Spectacle" showing in London. Introductory intertitle reads: "The Drury Lane Spectacle". "Whirling dancers, swarthy figures - the medley and motley of the East..." L/S of the chorus dancing around stage then M/S of musicians in hats and outfits. L/S of the stage with chorus dancing then closer view of some of the dancers. The outfits are Eastern in flavour - possibly representing gypsies or similar. "And as a dainty contrast - the spectacular fan ballet -" High angle shot of women dancing in evening gowns and swirling around the stage carrying large fans. The dance carries on for some time, the women making patterns with the feathered fans. The dance ends with the women kneeling down and lowering their fans.
