Summary
NoS synopsis: Title states "Filmed at Ken Wood, London" (Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath). A story about "all-the-year-round bathers." "Not ladies who play touch and go with the cold water - but hardy all-the-year-round bathers." M/S of girls in running gear jogging around the side of one of the bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath. The girls wave at the camera. "Air temperature 34 degrees - water 39 degrees - with a permanent sinking feeling in the mercury." A woman in a mackintosh pulls a thermometer out of the water to show the temperature. The girls take off their outer garments to reveal swimsuits. They dive in and we see them splashing and swimming about. "About the best time in the water is out of it! (As Paddy might put it!)" M/S of the girls standing together and having a cup of tea. The girls laugh. C/U of one of the girls drinking tea, looking very cold and being rubbed down by another, older, woman. "Modern Spartans!" A group of the girls link arms and jog up and down. The girls then do leap frogs over each other.
