Summary

NoS Summary - girls having fun at a fairground includes lots of rides and coconut shy.
NoS synopsis: "Carnival Time means coconut time when the girls get loose at the Fair." L/S of group of women throwing balls at a coconut shy. M/S of the stands of coconuts. Shot from behind a rather glamorous woman who is having a go. "She’s shy at anything." Crowds watch two women take wet sponges out of a bucket then throw them at a man who stands behind a board painted with the body of a fireman. The man wears a fireman’s helmet. There is a sign beside him which reads: "Help the Hospital". The women laugh (as do the crowd), the fireman ducks. "Merry go rounds for Mary go rounds..." Shots of fairground rides including the galloping horses, chair swings and caterpillar. C/U of girls on the galloping horses - cameraman is also on the ride. Shots of girls on the chair swings - cameraman also on the ride. "Slightly frozen motion when our slow camera looks on." Low angle slow motion footage of the chair swings. "All the fun of the fair." M/S of two girls riding donkeys. L/S of a donkey race - they run towards the camera. Young girl is sat on a very rickety looking ride. Various shots of children on this mini roller coaster. L/S of the helter skelter, two girls run toward it. Point of view shot of girl on the helter skelter, she smiles as she follows the cameraman down. Another girl bumps into her from behind. They are helped off at the bottom. The next girl comes down with her skirt around her waist (it looks suspiciously posed!) "And here’s an idea for Nervo and Knox" Slow motion footage of girl reaching the bottom of the helter skelter and being caught by the fairground worker. She makes a funny face.
