Summary
NoS Summary - German holidaymakers in Berlin.
NoS synopsis: "The first heavy touch of sun and away the Frauleins and their friends frisk off to the nearest water front." Various shots of holiday makers at the railway station with their suitcases. Off to the beach. High angle shot of a bus drawing up where lots of people are queuing. People crowd onto the bus. M/S of group of people on a pleasure cruiser passing the camera. L/S of lots of people sitting at tables under trees. "From above they look like a nest of disturbed ants" reads an intertitle. Aerial shot of a very crowded beach. Tourists crowd the sands. High angle shot of the beach showing shaded deck chairs and sun seekers. "Splashing, dashing, they all work hard to keep cool -" High angle shot of a youngster falling down a water slide into the sea. C/U of group of men with linked arms as another man launches himself onto their outstretched arms. They throw him up and down. L/S of group of young people dancing cheek to cheek on the sand. M/S of group of people in swimsuits buying something from a man in a large hat. More antics on a large slide. L/S of people on the beach. M/S of men leaning over drinking fountains. "Here’s one way of solving the heat problem - you could try it in your back garden." Girls in swimsuits play by a post from which water squirts. M/S of crowds of men watching as others throw a friend into the water. L/S of the lido. "The latest word in hot weather garb - " is a little boy in his birthday suit paddling in the water.
