Summary
NoS Summary - Women hurdles, tug-of-war, egg and spoon race, obstacle race etc.
NoS synopsis: "That piquant, pert but descriptive word that describes so eloquently in one syllable the energy of modern Eve - " L/S of four women running a hurdles race. "Hardly as fast as, say, these experts ..." We then see a professional hurdler. "And not so polished, perhaps, when recorded by our slow motion eye -" The jumps are seen in slow motion. "Pep for these girls sometimes means power - and pull -" M/S of a tug-of-war. Shots of both teams - all girls. Shot of the spectators. "A but of fun appeals to these "Nippies" - even "Spooning" with an egg - (at Greenford_." The "Nippies" have an egg and spoon race. We see them set off in slow motion. Various shots of the race. "Queer thing, but life is just like this obstacle race - full of ups and downs." We then see an obstacle race. Girls have to climb through ropes, under a piece of carpet, grab an apple from a bucket of water with their teeth, and run to the end of the course. The winner is seen in C/U with the apple still between her teeth.
