Summary
NoS Summary - The difference between African fashions and European fashions.
NoS synopsis: "North or South - East or West, whether they’re dusky beauties from Africa or Europe’s modern maids - all have the same love of fine clothes - ". Four African women in traditional dress pose with five European women. "Perhaps next year this Empire coifure will cover the world," said M. Paul Poiret, the famous fashion creator." He takes a hat off one of the European women and shows his new style. He then speaks to the African women about the style and shakes hands with one of them. "But we’d like to known what the ladies really thought of these -" The African women are then shown some European fashions - one of the women laughs, the others looks very serious. The contrast between the styles of dress is quite apparent. The African women don’t seem very impressed!
