- Summary
- COI synopsis: Only sixty miles from London, amidst the Sussex Downs, lies the picturesque village of South Harting. American visitors Joan and Julius Evans find that the unique scenic charm and way of life at South Harting typifies the traditional English village. During their few days’ stay at the village ‘pub’, they visit different members of the neighbourly community - the vicar, the headmaster of the village school, and the village blacksmith. Members of the Parish Council and of the Women’s Institute explain the importance of communal activities.
