- Summary
- COI synopsis: American visitors Joan and Julius Evans are intrigued by the many contrasts they discover between the British and American political scenes. They find themselves in the midst of a by-election in South London where they have an opportunity to interview the candidates of the Conservative, Labour and Liberal parties. They talk to representative MPs, who discuss with Joan and Julius their personal and political viewpoints. A swift, penetrating analysis of a Parliamentary session by a political commentator helps crystallize for them what happens behind the scenes in this ancient ‘Mother of Parliaments’ where the rights of the individual have been jealously guarded for centuries.
