- Summary
- COI synopsis: Mandy Cuthbert visits the kidney unit at London’s Royal Free Hospital. Doctors and nurses at the Royal Free have pioneered a scheme for kidney patients whose lives depend on an artificial kidney machine to plug into kidney units in their own homes. Mandy talks to Tony Roberts and other patients, for whom home kidney dialysis means independence from hospitals and the freedom to live a normal life.
