- Summary
- COI synopsis: The last decade has seen a man on the moon and the birth of a test tube baby. Yet for a century or more much of our everyday lives and the way we do things has remained remarkably unchanged. It’s just the occasional leap of imagination that can suddenly transform the conventional way of doing things; overnight turning established technology into outdated tradition. A new hollow steel telegraph pole allows overhead wires to be connected from ground level, and makes the traditional and dangerous business of climbing and rigging wooden poles part of yesterday’s technology.
