Summary
COI synopsis: On busy waterways like the English Channel, radar is an essential navigational aid. Yet during bad weather radar pictures can become confused by echoes picked up from the tops of waves or off raindrops. Now an electronic interrogator has been developed that cuts out the clutter - all incoming signals are inspected and only distinctive ship echoes are allowed through.
