- Summary
- COI synopsis: The search for a slim, bright, decipherable display screen has been engaging scientists for years. The answer, discovered by a British team, is a phosphor sandwich; a thin layer of phosphor sandwiched between two electrical conductors. Its first, but by no means its last commercial use, is in a brand new digital dashboard for cars. All the ever changing information needed by motorists is now available in a compact, easily visible display.
