Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Soccer FA Cup Semi Finals - Leeds V Wolverhampton. DESCRIPTION: Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers at Maine Road, Manchester. Leeds win and go forward for the final at Wembley. SHOTLIST: 2 MS Leeds team come out, crowd. TS Derek Dougan kicks off for Wolves left to right, passes to John Richards who passes back to Frank Munro who passes along high ball to left wing but is cleared by Leeds defence. MS Harvey (Leeds goalkeeper). TS Wolves attacking, Hibbitt passes and sets a Wolves player up with a goal but he shoots straight at Harvey the keeper, and Harvey saves. MS man in crowd showing his disappointment. 2 TSs Peter Lorimer centres for Leeds, Allan Clarke heads up into air, Mick Jones heads down to Billy Bremner who shoots but is deflected into air and Jones again heads it down, but this time for Clarke, his shot is blocked by Shaw for Wolves who clears it up field. TS ball is centred for Wolves but Leeds clear & Jack Charlton is injured. TS Charlton going off. MCU ditto being helped by Don Revie. TS Wolves centre but is headed clear by Madeley, Wolves player gets the loose ball and shoots well over top. Leeds centre ball, it is headed against bar then shot just wide. CU banner Super Wolves. TS Leeds kick off left to right LAS Leeds attacking down the middle but they head the ball over the bar. TS Lorimer beats defence going to right side, crosses the goalmouth after beating keeper but John Taylor saves on the line. TS Leeds take corner, it’s cleared by Giles but only so far as Lorimer overhead kicks ball back, Bremner picks up ball in middle & shoots, ball goes straight into net, all players congratulate Bremner. TS Wolves attack, John Richards gets through defence, shoots for goal, hits inside of post & goes straight into Harvey’s hands. MCU crowd. TS Leeds attacking and another near miss by Jones but a free kick is given against him. TS both teams leave pitch.
