MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Puck Fair - in Colour. DESCRIPTION: Every year in the Irish village of Killorglin, the Puck Fair is held. Originally a 3 day event, festivities go on for eight days! It’s the only place in Ireland where, during the fair, the pubs stay open for 72 hours. Highlight of the fair is the crowning of King Puck, a male mountain goat, who for three days, stays 52’ up on a specially built platform. SHOTLIST: GV pan over River Laune Bridge to village of Killorglin. GV pipe band marching over bridge. SV pan Fairy float goes over bridge (Lady of the Laune). GV parade and pipe band over bridge. SV pan float with Puck Goat over bridge. SV people walking past pub, one leading horse, other horses standing outside pub. SV pan car pulling trailer with donkey along street. AS pub sign Kingstone ? Bar and Lounge, pan down to horses outside with reigns leading inside to owners. SV owners with horses outside bank, pan to AS sign National Bank Ltd. SV foal with mother and another horse, pan up other horses & owners at fair. GV pan Lady of the Laune float on way to crowning ceremony. GV pan Puck Goat float along street. SV crowds watching. SV Puck Goat being crowned, King Puck by Lady of the Laune. SV pan up as King Puck is hoisted up onto stand. LV King Puck on tower.
