MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tall Ships Race - in Colour. DESCRIPTION: At Cowes, Isle of Wight, the tall ships race, comprising 44 training ships, sailed from Cowes to Skaw in Denmark. Altogether some 1,500 cadets and trainees took part in the Sail Training Association sponsored race. SHOTLIST: GV ships in start area. SV bow of Eagle stern of another big ship in back ground. SV side of Eagle pull back & pan up sails. SV sails & rigging. GV Eagle under sail. SBV Royalist being passed by Hoshi. LV Malcolm Miller. CU as La Goleta goes past camera. CU bows of Dar Pomorza sailing past along deck. SV Dar Pomorza zoom into sails. GV Gorch Fock. SV cadet in crows nest. SV pan along boat to Bowsprit (Gorch Fock). GV ditto approaching Dar Pomorza. GV tall ship fleet heading out to sea with two small boats crossing path of ships.
