Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sfta Awards. DESCRIPTION: Live on television. All glitter and glamour. The once-a-year event, held in the Albert Hall, when the film and television industry presents awards covering the whole range of the industry from Acting, Producing, Editing etc. The awards were made by Princess Alexandra and the show was compered by Richard Attenborough. SHOTLIST: CU television screen showing title British Screen Awards zoom back to GV stage at Albert Hall. GV guests & stars watching. SV Princess Alexandra & husband. GV guards dancing zoom back to GV, pan to people watching. CU guards dancing pan up to Eric Sykes, playing drum. SV people applauding. GV Patricia Hayes with award standing with Richard Johnson. SCU pan John Le Mesurier going up to receive award for best actor in Traitor. SV people applauding. SV Le Mesurier with award, he kisses Annette Crosley. SV Percy Livingstone watching. SV Benny Hill receives award for best TV script zoom back to GV. SV Hill receives award from Princess, he turns and walks towards mike. SV Ronnie Barker applauding. GV Glenda Jackson zoom into SV receiving award for best actress in Sunday, Bloody Sunday, she kisses Christopher Plummer. CU Jackson on TV screen pan down as she walks off stage. GV zoom in to Peter Finch receiving award for best actor in Sunday, Bloody Sunday, walks over to Lee Remick (4th win for Finch). SV Walon Green with award (Robert Flaherty Award) Hellstrom Chronicle. CU arc lights. SV Eric Morecambe & Ernie Wise receiving special award from Princess Alexandra together with Script Writer (Eddie Braben), they walk over and shake hands with Peter Cushing. GV standing ovation for Dame Sybil Thorndyke pan and zoom into Dame Sybil on stage with walking stick (age 90 years). SV zoom Joseph Janni producer, going up to receive award for best film Sunday, Bloody Sunday zoom back to GV. STV people giving standing ovation pan to Dame Sybil being helped own steps pan to CU Dame Sybil on TV screen pan and zoom into spotlight.
