- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aston Villa V Santos. DESCRIPTION: Despite power cuts, the soccer match between Aston Villa and Santos from Brazil went ahead as planned. The Birmingham team had bought, for £5,000, a generator for the lighting. Not a very outstanding game - the crowd-puller was renowned soccer star - Pele. SHOTLIST: CU man holding newspaper showing large picture of Pele. SV Aston Villa football club, pan to £5,000 generator. SV generator. Angle shot looking up at bank of lights. CU lights, zoom back to GV crowds assembled in ground. GV teams walk out onto pitch. SCU pan Pele. GV Santos kick off, ball goes to Aston Villa who attack (right to left). SV Villa attacking ball passed by Villa player and goes out of frame. SV Pele attacking, makes passing movement. SV No 7 for Santos with ball, he kicks to centre for Pele to kick for goal, near miss. SV Pele making another attack, Villa goalkeeper collects ball and clears up field. GV Villa attack up field. LV Villa attack ball goes over line for corner. GV Ray Graydon takes corner for Villa, and Charlie Aitken heads ball goalwards, with Pat McMahon heading it in. GV crowds applauding. LV Villa attack, outside right centres, Santos goalie saves and clears. SV goalkeeper and Pele argue with referee about emergency lighting. SCU ditto Pele points to floodlights pan to lights. GV 2 banks of lights. GV Villa attack, Villa player shoots, Santos goalie makes good save and clears. GV in penalty area as Bruce Rioch is brought down by Leo of Santos for penalty. GV Graydon scores Villa’s 2nd goal from penalty, pan to players congratulating him. LV Santos attack, Pele passes to No 1 who passes to No 9 back to No 8 who makes disallowed goal. LV Pele running down right wing he is tackled and brought down by Villa’s No 12 for free kick. GV Edu takes kick from right wing and scores. BV Edu being congratulated. SV crowds cheering. GV Santos and Villa players chasing ball. SV Villa takes possession and kicks ball into camera. SV pan as Pele runs off field into dressing room.
