- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Vigil at Weston Over. DESCRIPTION: At last - the vigil is over. 28 year old John James throws his gun through the window and the Police move in. This was the climax to the siege of Weston-under-Redcastle, in which the lives of a wife and four children have been in jeopardy for sixteen agonising days of waiting. SHOTLIST: Scenes of the capture of John James. Various scenes of police and press waiting around the cottage. James’s brother Michael James, sister Dorothy and his mother-in-law go into cottage. Scenes as his sister Dorothy throws shot-gun out of window. The police rush the cottage and James’s wife and children hustled out to safety. Then finally John James himself led to police van.
