- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Riding the Thermals. DESCRIPTION: Lasham Aerodrome, Hampshire, where the National Championships have been taking place. The event was opened by Prince Philip who tried out a dual-control glider. As the competitors get airborne they drop their tow-ropes and seek out those warm bubbles of air which carry them upwards - the Thermals, on which the glider depends for lift. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
