Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Who’s Got the Answer?. DESCRIPTION: When is a thaw not a thaw? Will the snow which nipped the West Country warm-up in the bud - last forever? Given all the science of advance forecasting, we still can’t guarantee anything. Mr Maynard’s meadows are buried under chunks up to a foot and a half thick. His land looks like a sort of Arctic-Ice-Field. Ground under ice has been the reason for the sporting freeze-up. A new anti freeze formula sprayed on the pitch before or after it freezes acts as a preventive or a cure. The cost of making a pitch playable? Around five hundred pounds. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV flooded roads. GV car through flooded road. MS lorries through snow-covered roads. MS snow plough clearing snow from the A30. GV car along road. GV snow-covered farm, farmers and dog walking on ice-covered field (3 shots). Man puts secret chemical called GL5 in tractor (2 shots). Tractor sprays liquid on soccer field (5 shots). Rugby pitch.
