Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Racing in the Rain. DESCRIPTION: The second day of Great Britain’s match against Poland at White City was far from a wash-out, in spite of continuous rain. Dorothy Hyman completed a wonderful double by winning the hundred metres in 11.8. She’s won a record 200 metres on Saturday. Now, the men’s two hundred metres. It was another British win, thanks to David Jones. Eventually, Britain finished only 4 points behind Poland. The Americans entered for the Invitation Two Thousand Metres, billed as a world record attempt. Derek Ibbotson finished a decisive winner in 5 minutes, 19.2. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV crowd.
