Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Games. DESCRIPTION: One of the international events at the News of the World British Games at the White City was the four forty hurdles. Surety (5) was going strong till Cooper (2), who’d run second to him in the counties race, passed him and won. The hundred yards A, another invitation event, was won by Foik of Poland. Now, the international quarter mile B. This event was won by Yardley of Great Britain. The two mile international was one of the best races of the day. Nearing the finish, Wood (17) of Great Britain closed on the leaders. There was a clash of elbows with Bogey (19) of France. Wood fell back, and Bogey went away to win a sensational race.
