Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Federal Spotlight (Rhino Rescue). DESCRIPTION: It was certainly a wonderful thing to dam the Zambesi at Kariba, and the reservoir forming above it will cover 2,000 square miles. But, inevitably, big game has often been cut off by the rising water, and what a formidable problem of rescue this has posed for the Rhodesian rangers and their men. Our pictures show how they rescued an elephant and a rhino. SHOTLIST: Ranger Klassens filling darts for firing at rhino. CU dart as it is finally prepared. LS Fothergill and others walking away from camera to look for rhino. LS Fothergill and Africans walking into water. Shot of rhino running through shallow water and past camera.
