Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Congo Trouble. DESCRIPTION: The new Republic was at once involved in an inter-tribal strife, and the Belgian-trained troops had the job of rounding up the ring leaders of a revolt, almost before celebrations were over. The troops themselves mutinied soon afterwards, and the whole country had been thrown into chaos and terror. Meanwhile, demonstrators, calling for firmer and quicker action by the Belgian Government, assembled in Brussels. The crowd clashed with the police, and a few arrests were made. SHOTLIST: GV scene.
