MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Wightman Cup. DESCRIPTION: When Miss Mortimer met Miss Hopps, the Americans were leading, three two. So, if Miss Mortimer could win this, the sixth match of the tie, Britain still had a good hope. And win it she did, in spite of losing the first set. Having taken the second, she fairly ran away with the third. Mrs Brasher and Miss Truman v Miss Hopps and Mrs Knode. Mrs Brasher and Miss Truman, having won the first set, six four, went on to take the second at nine seven. Great Britain had won the Wightman Cup by four matches to three.
