Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Swimming Triumph. DESCRIPTION: Russian swimmers came to Blackpool for their first international with Great Britain. A highlight of the match was the 1650 yards freestyle event. It was Richard Campion who won in English record time. The Ladies’ hundred and ten yards Backstroke swam to victory in fast time. The two twenty Butterfly was another grand British win. Ian Black took this event, as well as the 400 metres. The two-twenty Breast-stroke was one of the few Russian successes, but 106 points to 75 was a real British triumph. SHOTLIST: GV Russian team. GV British team.
