MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New By-Pass. DESCRIPTION: Dr Charles Hill (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster) opened the new By-Pass, and after the brief and simple opening ceremony, he and officials were the first to drive along. It’s the second section of the Motorway, about 12 miles long, planned to run North and South through Lancashire. SHOTLIST: LS Dr Charles Hill. CU same. MS Dr Hill cuts tape.
