The Prime Minister, Dr Verwoerd, who came to open it, was making his first public appearance since the state of emergency had been declared. . Dr Verwoerd made a thorough tour of the exhibition, and addressed the crowd of 30,000. It was after his speech, that the attempt on his life has made.
