Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Venus Probe. DESCRIPTION: At Cape Canaveral, a Thor-Able three-stage rocket was about to launch Pioneer V, a 90 pound satellite on a fantastic journey. Now to Jodrell Bank: it was Britain’s giant radio telescope that triggered off the separation of the satellite; and it alone could keep in touch. The rocket blasted off, and all went well.
