Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Riches From the Desert. DESCRIPTION: Early last Spring, France was hard at work, laying a 400-mile pipe-line from the central Sahara to the Mediterranean. Enormous reserves of oil had been discovered in the Sahara, and the 24-inch pipe-line would carry these riches from the desert all the way to the coast for shipment to France. Monsieur Debre, the French Prime Minister, has just been to Hassi Messaoud, where the oil field lies, to give the pipe-line its official opening.
