MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Republic’s Birthday. DESCRIPTION: The Congolese Republic in Equatorial Africa, formerly a French Colony, has been celebrating its first birthday with a big parade in Brazzaville. It had its solemn side, too, when President Youlou went to the Church of St Ann to attend a Thanksgiving Mass. The President then presented the green, yellow and red Congolese Flag to the Republican Guard, and saw the march-past of the troops which lasted over two hours. SHOTLIST: Aerial shot - the Congo.
