Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britannia Ball. DESCRIPTION: The ball, in the ballroom of a New York hotel, was in aid of the establishment of an International Cultural Centre for Youth in the young State of Israel. It is a cause that has widespread and distinguished support, notably in the world of the cinema. Douglas Fairbanks presented the International Chairman of the Britannia Ball, Mrs Murray Silverstone who made a speech. Mrs Spyros Skouras presented a scroll to Alicia Markova, and Mrs Spyros Skouras conditionally offered a scroll to Gracie Fields.
