MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sir Walter Unveiled. DESCRIPTION: Our pictures show London’s first statue of Sir Walter Raleigh, the man responsible for the discovery of Virginia, and who brought tobacco to England. The statue was unveiled by the American Ambassador, Mr Whitney, in Whitehall. Lord Hailsham and the Foreign Secretary, Mr Selwyn Lloyd, were present. SHOTLIST: GV crowds around statue.
